THE DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING
CENTER, a tax-exempt day/residential treatment center was
founded in the early seventies as the Institute of Learning
Research. The Center provides programs and services to meet
the special educational, mental, and physical health needs
of adolescents in Middle Tennessee.
The development of each child
or youth includes regular and special education, individual,
group and family counseling, nursing, and other prescribed
therapies. Referrals to DLC are made through the Special
Education Departments of a public school system, the
Tennessee Department of Children Services, and the Juvenile
Justice System.
DLC serves approximately 150
