DLC offers four day-treatment
academy programs: Primary, Middle, High School and Life
Skills. Students are placed according to developmental
level, functional academic level or learning profile,
chronological age, and physical size. The average group size
is from 12 to 15 students. A team of 2 or 3 members staffs
each group/class. The team is comprised of a certified
teacher, one or two assistants, and a trained counselor.
All staff are required to participate in DLC’s
competency-based credentialing program. All programs are
approved/licensed by the Tennessee Departments of Education,
Children’s Services, and Mental Health and Developmental
Disabilities.
